About me

My name is Hannah, I am a qualified teacher and trainer and I am offering an in-person tutoring service within the region of Somerset as well as remotely allowing me to teach you all around the world!

My specialist subjects are Health, Health and Social Care, Access to Higher Education (up to degree level), Applied Science, Biology including Human Biology and Anatomy and Physiology (up to A-Level), Chemistry and physics (up to GCSE level). I also can deliver the core subjects of Maths, English and Science for Key Stage 1. 2, and 3 as well as other national curriculum subjects.

I like to learn too so I am willing to turn my hand to most subjects most of the time I just need a course specification or framework!

I have an extensive care background of over 15 years experience within the industry working in a variety of settings at all levels including management. I have a First Class degree in Health and Social Care and I am Level 4 qualified in Education and Training with over 5 years experience of working within education as a teacher.

My teaching/training background

I am a Level 4 qualified teacher and trainer and I am currently completing my Level 5 with a view to completing an additional course to gain a degree in Education. I have taught 16-19 year olds as well as adult learners, I have worked within primary schools and secondary schools as a learning support assistant as well as supported those with learning disabilities. This means I have an excellent ability to adapt the way in which I deliver my lessons and to ensure that my lessons are inclusive and meeting all of the individual's learning needs.

I have previously delivered training to adults, I have a strong understanding of The Care Certificate as I have been delivering training on and assessing this for several years. I have also delivered apprenticeships and NVQ's and have most recently worked as a Further Education Course Manager and Lecturer delivering a Level 2 Health and Science Transition to T-Level, the Level 3 Health T-Level as well as teaching on the Level 2 extended diploma in Health and Social Care to 16-19 year olds. I have also lectured on the Access to Higher Education on the Nursing and Midwifery pathway delivering specifically the science based subjects.

I continue to deliver an array of training courses to residential and nursing homes, retirement homes, community care services, GP surgeries etc through my sister company Wright Way Training

Why choose Wright Way Tutoring?

I am particularly experienced in working with those who have Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, ADD and ADHD. I am patient and have a relaxed approach when teaching but firm as and when necessary. I believe it is important to build a rapport with the learner and to effectively assess them at each stage using methods which are suitable for them. For example, if the learner is better at speaking because they struggle to process information and get their thoughts down onto paper, I will use a verbal assessment method instead or a more practical approach.

I whole heartedly believe in providing a positive learning experience which engages, motivates and most importantly supports your individual learning needs. Learning should be something you enjoy, it should be fun! I am a kind, caring and empathetic teacher, I do not mind having to go over a subject a thousand times in a thousand different ways to help you understand. The most important thing for me and for you is to understand how you learn best and then adapt my teaching style to suit you!

Other important information

I am fully DBS checked and I am registered with the update service as I continue to work within the NHS.
